About the “good” effect of a “bad” mood for your life
In casual conversations I often hear how people say “he is in a good mood” or “he is in a bad mood”.By the “good” mood the state of inspiration, love, joy, drive, happiness is often implied, when person is willing to “move the mountains”! I’m
sure you’ve been in this state from time to time and hope it is the casual state for you. Personally I like being in this state when I have to reach my goals very quickly (because it’s the most effective state to do this) or spending time with my friends or beloved. By the “bad” mood often the state of sorrow and apathy is implied, even some inner pain. You’ve probably been in this state, as well as I.
Now, I state that “bad” mood is as natural for you as “good” one, as the night changes the day and darkness changes the light. It can be useful for you and I’ll explain why below.
Well, to start from, I state that the most radical changes started in my life from events which caused such “bad” mood: broken relations, death of a close person... When being in a “bad” mood state, I often made the correct lessons, life lessons, which caused the tremendous leap in nearly all spheres of my life.
In the “bad” state the change of life course can be made. It’s like the ship which flows in definite direction and suddenly captain realizes that the direction was wrong or not fully correct and he decides to refine it. When being in such occasion I had the feeling like the different forces were struggling with each other inside me. One force wanted to continue flowing to the previous direction and another force wants to adjust it, go to new goals, new life. I believe that the struggle between these two forces causes the inner pain. The inner pain may last during the period of person transformation, until you don’t change and fully accept the new direction of your life. It is nearly the same like if wind was filling out the sails of a ship: the ship was going ahead and everything was fine. And now suddenly the new wind, more powerful, appeared. You can now switch to this, more powerful wind which will let you come to your goals even faster. The ship may crack and feel the tension until the sailors (YOU!) don’t turn the ship to follow the new, more powerful wind. So, probably the “bad” mood is not so “bad” at all? Well, the “bad” mood is effective for making radical changes; and the “good” mood is great for reaching your goals and simply enjoying life!
To continue drawing parallels, when ship is turned to the new direction, the best is just following the new chosen direction, letting the fair wind filling out the sails to the fullest extent. For human this is so called the “good” mood, when person feels drive, inspiration, joy from living and reaching set goals!
It seems to me, that the real mastery of life is not to hide head in the sand from the “bad” mood, no. The better solution is to accept it, understand why I’m in this state now, what lessons I can learn here, and which new direction I will choose to go further.
Therefore, if you have the habit to be in a positive mood and feel that “something” happens, so that you start experiencing some difficulties or even feel inner pain, don’t be afraid. Who knows, probably it is right the time for changing something in your life! ;)
