Don't Give Up - Get organized!
I've worked since I was sixteen, I put myself though college working. Then it was all about my graphic design career, for fifteen years. When I finally settled down and had my first child, I decided to work from home freelancing and be home for my child.Sounds easy? Gosh, life seems harder now, with little income contributed from me, I often felt overwhelmed and responsible, I felt guilty as well. Though my husband is doing well and we are able to live a comfortable modest life. I still feel a certain sense of frustration since I have always been a working woman.
I've learned quickly that taking care of home and kids, while doing freelance work from home and assisting husband with family business is much harder than getting up in morning and walking into an office, knowing a paycheck will be there at end of week.
It's a juggle, and I often feel tired and overwhelmed. So this is what I've learned.
Don't give up - get organized!
Every beginning of week, I clear the clutter, get the bills out of the way (which is very relaxing) make a list on my desk and follow it. Even if I didn't finish a certain task (say folding laundry). I stop and move to second task (progress on my paying freelance jobs for example) and so on... at end of day I would have advanced many tasks or completing some. By working this way, things get done, not left aside and accumulated. Getting organized, mentally, and physically can create a more productive environment and when things get done, you feel good!
