Don't Let Fear Direct Your Life

Well it's been rough lately. I had to face many fears and I learned to face them without letting them control me. I cannot tell a lie, there were moments I felt very much like the girl in my thumbnail picture. But I had sudden bursts of powerful reactions that got fear running to the hills. I remember a saying Jesus uttered while in the desert for forty days, where he commanded satan to get behind him. I felt I was doing the same in those instances, telling fear, this unwelcomed, distructive negative dark thing rushing through like a bulldozer, to get behind me and get on its way. Fear is evil, really, and I am not talking about the natural fears of height and falling that protects us, but fear that takes our power away. I don't believe in satan, but I do know in life there are always opponents that come to test our faith in life and love. We make decisions to follow negative flows or positive flows. Fear is that negative flow that surely emerges during hard times we may be facing and dares us to give up, shrivel and let our optimism and love of life die.

Don't let fear control you. Acknowledge it as a passing feeling, natural in some instances, but also remind yourself not to give into it. Don't resist it in other words, feel it, be conscious of it, reason that fears usually come from not knowing and our lack of control over a situation. Let the fears flow away, let them go and surrender to love and trust and knowing that what ever is causing the uncertainties, anxieties and fears in your life, will pass and leave their mark, sometimes a even a scar. But they will become lessons from which you will learn great things, and you will definitely survive.

Very well said....even I used get similar feelings of anxiety or intense fear sometimes that used to paralyze me for a while. But later I have started seeing that this is just a passing phase and one needs to think positively to overcome this. I am a great believer in the saying that "Time is a great healer". Just let this phase pass through....and there will be brightness once again....

I so agree with you Natalie1968! I recently went through such situations and therefore I know you are solid and valid in what you are saying.
I wish there were some ways to train people ahead of time for such situations and even not letting them fall into such situations. But I think for such a trainings the world is the only university, fears, setbacks, failures are the faculty...

I totally agree with Natalie... For I am going through such things in my life. I am trying my hard to gt out of it but my efforts go in vain. My wife simply puts it as "Just tell yourself 'this too will pass', then you will easily come out of it". How powerful certain words can tell us the facts of life. Yes, This too will pass are the words I am hanging on now to... I hope I'll also come out of this soon. As Santosh rightly said, these are situations that make you stronger. But till you become stronger to understand that its not so bad, you will have to go through the toughest days of life..
