Health for Bloggers
World has changed today and internet has made life of a man easy. As you might notice, people did not know anything about internet or computers a century ago. However, today, everyone knows how to blog and maintain a virtual journal. Without blogging, life seems incomplete these days and nothing can be done in order to avoid this. Blogging became an addiction!
Sarah is my patient and I am her family doctor. She is a 19-year-old American girl who is a passionate blogger. She does not do anything in her free time other than blogging.

She asked me “What should I do as my back aches
a lot when I sit on computer or when I use my laptop”. Back ache is
a common problem, especially when you use computer or blog for long.
When you sit and work on a computer, especially blogging, you forget
the real world as the virtual world overwhelms your mind and soul, in
an inexplicable manner. However, this is inevitable, especially when
you are a desperate blogger or have passion about writing blogs.
Today, a number
of people complain about head ache, back ache and the numbers are
increasing,
on an average 65% per year. This is due to the increment of regular
bloggers and interesting topics. Sarah does the following, when she
blogs:
- Does not sit straight
- Does not move body due to which the flexible tendons get jammed resulting in muscle blockage and pain
- Stares at screen for hours
- Ignores food, especially nutritional food
- Drinks a lot of carbonated water/soft drinks
When you are
using a computer, make sure that you do the following in order to avoid
back ache or head pain:
- Sit straight
- Keep moving your hands and feet
- Stand up and bend regularly
- Keep blinking your eyes every now and then
- Wash your face regularly, by cleaning your eyes gently.
I have explained Sarah the above, and she was very much comfortable. Are you willing to do the same? What are your views about blogging and health?
