Power of Media

Everybody agrees with the fact that influence of the movie is undisputable nowadays,
especially among youth. But such impact is easy to explain. You should agree
that not all parents are able to give enough time and attention to their children,
even though it’s really important for young minds because during such period
they form their ideals and world-view. And according to our psychology, we
start to seek information ewerywhere we can find it, which is the perfect time
for TV and movie to appear on the stage, isn’t it? Today, for example, young
people are interested in foreign exchange market “forex”, quick ways to earn
money, what to dress on to look stylish and so on. And as often as not, the
source of answers for all questions is movie or internet, unfortunately.
I must admit, that there a lot of good films which display reality of the modern
world, teach how to keep your own business and train such useful traits as
will, patience and power of mind. But! And there is always a big BUT! How often
you watch movies which are full of violence, idiocy or sexual propaganda? I can
answer. Average couch potato watches at least one full of loo humor comedy, one
violent action movie and one film with sexual content per day... Just imagine how
negatevily it influences on a poor mind of a little child. And what makes me
realy sad, parents who for any reason can not pay enoung attention to their
children are absolutely unable to stop this “TV-informational’ dependence.
And of course you should remember, that not only children can be influenced by movies.
Usually, reaching 25 years old period, people are completely developed and have
their own ideas and system of values, but it doesn’t mean that they are
absolutely protected from the influence of TV. For example, if you like
comedies or dramas you will prefer to watch only such films ignoring all other
genres, won’t you? But you should agree, that even these preferences trace
their origin form the deep childhood. Taking to account such preferences you can
define main character traits of the person even if you’ve never seen him/her
before. “Tell me what you watch and I’ll tell you who you are.” It’s not my
theory, it is one of the realities of our world....
