Sinusitis: Tips, suggestions and cure :: My experience with a patient

Randall Williams, my patient who is also a friend, would always come to my clinic with several health problems, from headache to toe sprain. However, I noticed one thing most of the time when I’d attend to him: he was suffering from sinusitis. But at no point of time, would he bring that up. It was obvious that he was taking that illness for granted or blaming it on his genetic makeup. One day, when he had come to me to tend a fracture (yes he is a football champ), I asked him a question that threw him off-guard, “Randall, you come here with varied problems. But why on earth, have you never for once discussed about your sinusitis?” He smiled in resignation and said, “Well, it is a common problem and I have been having it since childhood. I don’t think that could ever go.”

“Oh really?” I raised my eyebrows. “I don’t think so. There are remedies for sinusitis. Do not take an illness for granted.” I told him about how sinusitis strikes an individual. “Randall, do you know what sinuses are? They are basically, a pair of hollow cavities that are located in the bones of the skull that surrounds the nasal passages (medically called paranasal sinuses). Sinusitis happens due to the blockages in the little tubes that are connected to these nasal passages.” Randall agreed that it would give him headaches as well which would go away after popping a tablet.  I replied, “You always seem to tackle the symptoms rather than hit the root cause of the problem. Let me show you how you can cure sinusitis through natural remedies.”

Randall was all ears as I advised him to take 5 grams of black pepper powder and mix it with warm milk and drink. “You can also, “I continued, “mix half a spoon of fresh garlic with 2 tsp of honey. If you take this regularly, your sinusitis will be a thing of past. You may also consume fresh onion juice mixed with honey to cure sinusitis. Boil some ginger slices and drink the extraction when it is luke-warm. This should clear mucous and blockages.’

“Whoa!” Randall exclaimed, “So many options! Why dint I ask you sinusitis cure before?” “Your mistake.” I winked with a smile, “By the way, steam inhalation with ajwain should also help.” I patted his head as I put a fresh bandage on his arm, “You need to take some preventive measures as well, young boy.  Stay away from eating fried, starchy foods. I don’t need to tell you that you should avoid frozen foods. Also avoid perfumes and scented oils.” Randall got down from the clinic bed and said, “Thanks doc. I will keep your advice in mind and implement them.”

Randall met me after 2 months at the football ground, he looked jubilant. “I have got to thank you, doc” he said cheerfully, “My parents and friends are amazed to find that I do not have sinusitis anymore!”  I beamed. “Well that calls for a toast’ He laughed, ‘Sure. Lets head to this spanking new eatery after football, shall we?”

Do the sinusitis and polypus mean the same?

from wiki :
Chronic sinusitis is a complicated spectrum of diseases that share chronic inflammation of the sinuses in common. It is divided into cases with polyps and cases without, and the former is sometimes called chronic hyperplastic sinusitis. The causes are poorly understood and may include allergy, environmental factors such as dust or pollution, bacterial infection, or fungus (either allergic, infective, or reactive). Non allergic factors such as vasomotor rhinitis can also cause chronic sinus problems. Abnormally narrow sinus passages (such as a deviated septum), which can impede drainage from the sinus cavities could also be a factor. A combination of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria are observed, including Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative Staphylococci. Typically antibiotics provide only a temporary benefit, although mechanisms involving hyperresponsiveness to bacteria have been proposed for sinusitis with polyps.

Hi, I have been suffering from Sinusitis for the past 1.8 months and having difficulties in getting proper smell and also feel some headache most of the time. I tried to get it resolved with a retired doctor @ AIIMS India New Delhi but it was all in vain because took some nasal dorps, had many different kinda allopathic medicines. It was badly affected in the beginning between 28/May/2008 to Mid January/2009.
I also went to the other personal clinics but no answer was there with any doctor. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
