The Best Day Ever

My granddaughter and I have spent a lot of time together. Now, that she's started kindergarten, I probably won't see her quite as much. It gets incredibly hot here in Las Vegas, so we often go to the pool or the water park. She loves to watch the Cooking With Dog channel on YouTube (we like cooking Japanese dishes together). No matter what we find to occupy ourselves, she puts her whole self into it, and with all the enthusiasm she can muster. She is a curious, adventurous and fearless little girl. I often think about how wonderful it is, that children can find such happiness in the simplest things. We could be having a swim, like we have had on so many other days - yet, she always says, "GG, this is the best day ever!" And you know what? It always is.
