The Key to Creativity
Most people believe that creative thinking is a gift of nature thus only some people have it. This misbelieve block our creativity. In reality all of us have creative abilities and one can develop them. But not so much attention paid to the creativity development. Often inner barriers built by society prevent us from revealing our creativity. How to break up these ties and open up your creativity read in the following article. To start with accept three simple principles:
The ability of creative thinking does not depend on the talent, education or intellect. Everybody have this ability. The development of the creative abilities is a lifelong process. It is never late to become more creative than at present moment.Creative thinking reveals in all types of activities. Thus, it can be used in any activity. Once you can accept these three principles the first barrier on the way to revealing your creativity is broken.
Scientist proves that 90% of kids and only 2% of adults think creative. Why it happens that growing up the person losing its creative abilities? It happens because adults think about any process or action from the point of view of its result. In case they do not see the reason or the response they will hardly continue to spent their time on it. While kids do everything only because they love the process. That is the reason why kids do not bother themselves with the problem “How to start the process?”, as kids do not consider the variants like “What if a loose?”, “What if nobody would like it?”. They just do what they like. If you want to increase your creative potential, you should act in the same way.
So the next step to increasing creativity is to receive pleasure from the process not thinking about the possible results. To train it use the following simple exercises:

Draw a picture of any size on any topic. The goal of this task to do something you did in the childhood. Try not to think about the result, but to focus on the process. You’ll reach the final goal of you receive the pleasure and satisfaction from the process.Put on paper everything you did during one day of your life. It does not have to be in chronological order. It is just important to make a record of all your actions during the day. Examine the list the next day. Find out what actions you were doing not for the sake of result, but because you liked the process? Were there something irrational and unreasonable in your actions. If not, ask yourself why you have not done it it?Write a story or make a picture and than throw away the result. It would be difficult, but only in such way you will realize that the main idea of creative work lies not in the result, but in the process itself.
The second step is to break up the stereotypes.
As a rule, people consider they point of view the only one that is right. Thus, they easily get trapped by the stereotypes thinking. Examining the problem, they usually study the alternatives until they find the first satisfactory, though often other options may be much better. To continue the search when one option has already been found, it is necessary to look at the problem from the other angle. Without this ability it is hard to develop the creativity.
We get used to start every process from the beginning. What if to start the process from the middle or the the end. Those people who can do this, see the process quite differently. Foe example, Henry Ford invented conveyor due to this ability. Instead of thinking over the traditional mechanisms on how to bring people to the material to work with, he invented how to bring material to workers faster.
So to become a creative person, it is necessary to think nonstandard and accept other points of view like your personal.
To develop your creativity learn to accept your most unusual and provocative ideas and share them with others. Most of us are afraid of sharing their ideas with others, as other people may not understand or support it. However, if we hide the provocative ideas, we kill them not allowing them to develop. Not saying them aloud, we lose the opportunity to realize them and make a break through in some business sphere.
People always oppose new revolutionary ideas at the beginning. For example, the famous Barbie doll was neglected at the beginning by most of the industry managers, as it was the first adult doll on the market and few people saw the future of this idea, as everybody get used that dolls should look like babies or small girls. Nowadays two Barbie is sold in the world every second.
Creative thinking means its owner does not afraid of any crazy ideas and does not neglect the ideas of other people at once. That is why, if you want to be creative, try to follow this principle.
Dream more…
Creative people differ from the rest, because they are not afraid to set the crazy and unbelievable goals. Most try to adapt the dreams to reality in order to achieve it. However, creative person usually acts differently, as they are sure in their strengths and pays more attention to its desires.
Create a list of your top ten dreams. The dreams could be very different both material and not. Try not to limit yourself only on something you think you are able to achieve. Look at the list. What of it you can surely achieve? Probably, it would be only two or three dreams. Then think what of the dreams you can achieve theoretically? Probably, all of them. Think it over. What stops you from achieving it?
Look again on your dream list. How many of your dreams your can share with others. Probably, only a few of them. How many of them you tried to realize? How many attempts you made? How have they finished?
Many of us blames lack of time, materials, special creative mood on the lack of creativity. However, in reality we know that these are just excuses. To develop your creativity, it is necessary to break them. The secret of creativity lies not in creating something unusual, but in breaking all the excuses that prevents us from starting the process.
