The Lessons made from Michael Jackson and Jan Claude Van Damme
It has been a wonderful Saturday! Besides having great time with my friends, I watched two movies about people who became the legends. The first movie was “This is it” which tells the story about the preparations to the final concert of Michael Jackson which didn’t happen.
When watching the movie, I was really impressed, how Michal treated to other members of his band. I counted probably 5 or 6 times when he said “I love you” and “God bless you” and “I’m saying that with love to you” and “Hope you understand”. Besides, I didn’t see any signs of star illness. Instead, in an interview with the troop members, almost everyone distinguished Michael’s modesty (not a widespread quality of a super star!).
During the repetition of one song, Michael gave so impressive finish that I was ready to stand and applaud! I can only imagine what happened at his concerts, if he did such performance at repetitions when Michael sang in the empty hall.
And I was completely amazed when at the end of repetition Michael gathered all the band in one round where everyone held other’s hands and then said: “…we are the one family… we should bring the message to people…we should take them into adventure during the show… ”. This is the key phrase, as for me, which shows that Michael was concerned primarily about the audience, not about the money he would get from the show and was understanding that it would be great only with a help of all the team (“the family”) of dancers, singers, producers.
After watching the “This is it”, we decided living that day for 100% and took the tickets for the “J.C.V.D.” movie which would represent the main actor Jan Claude Van Damme in person!
Having prepared with a nice ice cream, we approached the cinema hall full of people willing to see the live legend. How surprised I was seeing the actor entering the hall in a simple trousers and casual t-shirt, saying “Hi” and hurrying up to his place! It’s so unusual comparing to Ukrainian “super stars”, imagining themselves the Gods compared to other people wearing tons of golden bracelets and Gucchi-Pucchi-Armani clothes with huge labels so that everyone could see how glamour the “star” is!
Well, the event producers still asked Jan Claude to say several introductory words before the movie would start. So, he hurried up to the mic, joked a little by thanking everyone for “making him the star” and wished having a good time to everyone. BTW, when Van Damme was hurrying back to his seat, Marina blocked his way and threatened with knocking him down if he wouldn’t give her an autograph. He scared and certainly did :) (Marina is the champion of the world in taking of autographs from celebrities!). I’m not a movie critic, so will mention just several points I remembered most in the “J.C.V.D” movie (in which Jan Claude played himself).
First, as Jan Claude said, when had been a 13 years old boy, he had got dream to become a movie artist.
Second, he spent many years in dojo mastering the karate.
Third, Jan Claude very much wants to live, because he realized that did nothing for this world and many wants to do (again so, these are his words).
After watching these movies, I can draw out the following lessons.
First, if you want to reach something big, first of all, you should have a burning dream.
Second, your way to the dream may take years. So, be persistent.
Third, on your way treat to surrounding people with love and they will help you achieve it!
And forth, after reaching the dreams, many famous people started thinking about their contribution to the world. I can mention here Michael Jackson who spoke against pollution and deforestation of our Planet by writing the song “What about us” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqeADZgjtpY ), Richard Branson who rebuilt the UK’s rail road and launched the high-speed yet energy-saving Pendolino trains (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_390 ) and Jan Claude Van Damme who is currently seeking how can he contribute to this world after he became the famous movie actor.
It seems to me it’s a human’s need not only to reach his/her own dreams, but also be helpful for entire world.
Do you agree with me? ;)
