Someone who you can tell ANYTHING and not only have them keep it a secret, but completley listen and understand.
Someone you can share a complete silence with (Pulp Fiction, anyone?) for hours and hours and never get bored.
Someone who will cater to you when your sick, sad, tired, or down, and you would do the same for them.
Someone who won't talk bad about you, stab you in the back, and most importantly, no matter how many rumors might be going around about you or how many people hate you, that one best friend loves you.
That's a best friend.

Friendship is raw, bare, loving, and understanding above and beyond the borders of love. It means being there for him/her and the same to you through thick and thin. Even if it takes a long time to over come something~having the ability to do so means that you are truly friends.
Friendship as said is a silken tie of love between. Its up in such a way that it has the clinch of winning and holding others heart.A third hand to help you out and one to give shoulders to you when you are in need...!!added to that is showing love and affection without expecting it back..!!!

To me, friendship is a relation between to kindred spirits who accept each other qualities and flaws alike. No one is perfect, and sometimes we make mistakes and hurt each other, friendship is seeing past all that and knowing, truly knowing the heart of the other person.
A Good Friend is a gift of GOD....

You can have friendship with any body as per your choice of selection. You can have these friends at wrong time as well as right times of your life. Everybody supports someway or otherway to their friends but may not be always.
Actually, we can laugh with many friends without any problem, but when we cry at our bad times, we need a shoulder to put our head and to get our painsful moments exhaust under a caring person, that shoulder will only be of a True Friend. It doenst mean that, a true friend always should be supportive to you, but the fact is everybody is busy with their own life issues and a true friend is not excused from this fact. But I am sure, infront of him/or her you can very easily cry, he/she will be ready to give their shoulder to hold you.
